A tragedy, but Croc Hunter Steve Irwin would most likely not mind us looking at the funny side of it.

I have to admit that I've never watched an entire program of his and I'm not his fan. While I would not go as far as Germaine Greer in commenting that the animals had their revenge at last, Irwin did create a lot of "situations" by tormenting many of the more aggressive animals to excite his audience. Perhaps, like most of us, he did not expect to meet an unusually vicious sting ray.
